Women’s Leadership Development

Women's Leadership Development (WLD) helps our female colleagues confidently step into a leadership role at UPS.

When you're doing what you do best, there’s no stopping you. Women's Leadership Development helps our female colleagues enhance their ability to lead others, develop the knowledge and skills to move into very senior roles, and make the world work better for everyone. We provide a supportive environment that encourages and enables the attraction, development and retention of women through networking, mentoring, training, education and community-based involvement. Training & Benefits

You’ll have powerful training and development resources to shape your career. In a specialist role? You’ll have access to UPS University, our learning management system which provides a full library of online courses. For our Drivers, we’ve built a state-of-the-art training facility, UPS Integrad®, to equip you with the skills needed to deliver the service our customers expect. Other tailored training programmes include our industry-leading Sales Academy.

At UPS, we are conscious of our corporate responsibility towards climate change and as such, sustainability is an inherent part of UPS’s strategy and business operations. We’re an important part of the global supply chain, and our customers expect us to bring solutions that help reduce their emissions. Our portfolio of sustainability solutions helps customers—big or small—measure, manage and mitigate the transportation impact of their supply chain, whether it’s around the world or around the corner. Through our relentless pursuit of efficiency and innovation, we are building the smart logistics network of the future. We’re investing in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, and expanding the use of renewable energy to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.

Community

Since 1951, The UPS Foundation has worked to strengthen countless communities worldwide. Their charitable giving, combined with the power of UPSers' volunteerism, will continue to create better places to live, work and play. For this generation, and the next.

We support global initiatives, but also many local good causes and organizations too such as Business in the Community (BITC), the oldest and largest business-led membership organization dedicated to responsible business, created nearly 40 years ago by HRH The Prince of Wales.

We give to charity, not just money but our time – as a company we want to hit 20 million volunteer hours by 2020.

UPSers Spend the Day Planting Trees

Planting trees helps to fight climate change and is an important practice in sustaining our environment.

On Thursday 7th March 2019, a small group of UPS and Nightline employees were deployed to the scenic Herbert Park in the heart of Dublin City to plant a number of trees as part of our environmental sustainability efforts here in Ireland. UPSers across the world are making progress toward UPS’s goal of planting 15 million trees by 2020 and doing our bit to reforest the planet, one tree at a time. The UPS Foundation Tree Grant enabled UPS Ireland to plant over 30 trees in various locations across the park.

These trees play a vital role in our environment, they literally soak up pollution and improve the air quality releasing the oxygen we need to breathe, and trees are instrumental in fighting the effects of air pollution and greenhouse gases.

The employees learned about every aspect of tree planting and care, from picking a species to putting it in the ground and everything in between.

The variety of species of trees planted is vast, some are pretty to look at, others actively reduce CO2 emissions and provide food for the birds and the bees throughout the year. The group of volunteers planted 19 trees along the river in the park. The Dublin City council team worked on planting other trees so in total 36 trees were planted across the park as part of this initiative.
